Two separated ways

You got to see each and every year the same old New England Patriots to understand the level of consistency throughout all this years that they have and the other 31 teams in the league doesn’t. Again for third straight year the Patriots are in the Super Bowl and their dynasty has now exceed for 18 years since Tom Brady is in the center of the field.

That took me over to see and review the situation for the rest of the league in terms of success. One team in particular comes to mind to me when I compare the last few years of the Patriots. The Dallas Cowboys.

It appear to be no correlation between these two franchises considering that one is the most successful of the NFL in the las 20 years, and the other one is probably the most disappointing. But what I believe is the main difference between both of them is not the QB play (Tony Romo might be as good as a QB as Brady if you put him in the right team), nor the defenses, skill players or the GM decisions over the offseason. What I truly believe is the difference between these two teams is the coaching staff. And do not misunderstood what im saying, since I consider Jason Garret a good head coach, but Bill Bellichick is a one of kind head coach, who also happen to have great offensive and defensive coordinators during his whole career with the Pats.

Coaching decisions, during the game, practices, and offseason are as important as having the best roster in the NFL. And the only team in the last 20 years that have made good decisions in the daily basis are the New England Patriots. Dallas Cowboys in the other hand, appear to have found something to finally reach the big game each and every year. And each and every year they do demonstrate that those where fake hopes.

Now that the season is over for them, I believe there are three main thigs to solve and to compete for a title:

First, there is the defense, they should be able to sustain the kind of defesense that they show along the whole season, not the one that crash versus the LA Rams, but the one that decided games each and every week. Not just be that same defense, but be even better next season.

Second, they have to find a good offensive coordinator, a good QB coach (and not a rookie like Kellen Moore) that believe in an aggressive offense while they are committed to good decisions and Garrett’s philosophy. If they are in the same page, and avoid stupid decisions, they should be good with the offensive line and skill players that they have. Dak Prescott can be a star for years to come if they learn to play him in the right way.

Finally, but not least, the Dallas Cowboys need to start to be aggressive, from the owner through the last member of the roster. Take risk at some players GM, take risk in the offseason, during games and during practices, you are never going to win playing safe.
